(Flat on his belly, Aladdin starts crying because he was forced to leave his home and his true love, Jasmine. Suddenly, there is a rustling noise, and out of the bushes comes a big blue bear named Baloo, singing a tune.)
- Baloo:(singing) Dooby-dooby-doobity-doo. Well it’s a doobity-doo, I mean a doobity-doo, I mean a dooby-dooby-dooby-dooby-doobity doo! And wi— (he stops singing when he sees Aladdin lying there still.) Well, now. (chuckles) What have we here? (He sniffs at Aladdin who doesn’t even move.) Hey, fellas! Look at what I found!
(Suddenly, more animals emerge from the shadows, a panther named Bagheera, four vultures named Buzzy, Dizzy, Ziggy and Flaps, a female gorilla named Terk, a red elephant named Tantor, a flock of crows, a meerkat named Timon, a warthog named Pumbaa, a monkey named Abu and an alligator named Louis.)
- Terk: What is that?
- Bagheera: I believe that’s a young boy.
- Timon: What’s a kid like him doing in this part of the forest?
- Pumbaa: I think he’s lost.
- Louis: You think he might be... dead?
- Tantor: DEAD?! OH, NO!!!
- Terk: Calm down, Tantor.
- Bagheera: Hold on, everyone. He isn’t dead. I can hear him breathing.
- Louis: Thank goodness.
(Suddenly, Aladdin begins to stir.)
- Tantor: (gasps) He waking up!
- Louis: What’ll we do?!
(Aladdin gets up and opens his eyes, seeing all the animals surrounding him.)
- Aladdin: Oh!
(Aladdin’s cry of surprise causes the animals to scatter in all directions and hide for shelter)
- Dizzy: Let’s get out of here!
- Buzzy: Gimmie room! Gangway!
- Aladdin: Please don't run away! I won't hurt you.
(The animals come out of their hiding places and look at Aladdin confusedly, surprised at how harmless he looks)
Aladdin: I'm awfully sorry, I didn't mean to frighten you. But you don't know what I've been through. And all because I was afraid. I'm so disgraceful at the fuss I've made. What have you done if facts go wrong?
(The birds chirp a tune, which cheers Aladdin up some)
Aladdin: Oh! You sing a song?
(The mother and father birds nod to each other, then chirp affirmatively to Aladdin. Aladdin sings a tune, which the baby bird is able to chirp. Its parents nod proudly at the perfect thing. After singing the same tune again, the baby bird flies down to Aladdin as he sings a harder tune. It tries to mimic him, but the last note it hits is sour)
Aladdin: (giggles/sings) With a smile and a song.
(As he sings, a mother deer looks up from her grazing, three raccoons look up from their bathing and a family of quails comes out of its nest)
Aladdin: (singing) Life is just like a bright, sunny day. Your cares fade away, and your heart is young.
(The other animals, sensing Aladdin means no harm, come out of their hiding places. As the raccoons run over to him, the "rock" one of them is standing on reveals itself to be the shell of a turtle that pokes its head out of the pond. The quails are the next to walk over)
Aladdin: (singing) With a smile and a song, all the world seems to waken anew. Rejoicing with you, as the song is sung. There's no use in grumbling if raindrops come tumbling, remember you're the one who can fill the world with sunshine. If you smile and you sing, everything is in tune and it's good and life flows along. With a smile and a soooooOOOONG!!!
(The animals all jump for joy to show they trust Aladdin, who feels happier with all his friends surrounding him.)
