First Season Plot[]
Episode 1: The Collywobbles[]
In 2023, the nation of Pokolistan is under attack by the sorceress Cassandra and her followers, the Sons of Themyscira. In response, A.R.G.U.S. leader Amaya Leroux tasks General Buzz Lightyear with entering Pokolistan to help their heiress, Princess Malty S Melromarc, stop Cassandra. Due to Congress shutting down her Task Force X program for putting human lives in jeopardy two years prior, she recruits a team of non-human inmates from Belle Reve Penitentiary; Loona aka the Bride, Doctor Vinz, G.I. Bender, Scrat, and Raphtalia Mazursky; and codenames them "Task Force M". After meeting Malty, Buzz and the team settle in her castle, during which the princess makes advances towards Buzz. Later that night, Vinz sneaks into Buzz's room to steal his remote detonator, which allows Buzz to electrically shock the others should they disobey orders. Buzz and Vinz get into an altercation, which the former wins. Meanwhile, Loona, followed by a reluctant Raphtalia, sneaks out of the castle and goes to her birthplace, an abandoned mansion. An old woman living nearby notifies Death of Loona's appearance.
Episode 2: The Tourmaline Necklace[]
In 1831, Death requests his creator, Dr. Robert Callaghan to create a bride for him from female cadavers. After successfully doing so, Callaghan teaches Loona how to speak and function normally, to Death's dismay. Despite his advances, Loona remains fearful of Death's presence, causing him to run away. Sometime later, Callaghan presents Loona with a tourmaline necklace. The two of them fall in love and have sex, which Death witnesses. Death subsequently murders Callaghan, causing Loona to lash out at him. In the ensuing fight, Callaghan's mansion burns down and Loona runs away. In the intervening centuries, Death chases Loona across the world despite her rejecting him in every encounter. In the present, Malty seduces Buzz and they have sex. Meanwhile, Loona and Raphtalia search Callaghan's mansion for the necklace. However, they are attacked by Cassandra, who was alerted to their presence by her followers. Loona and Cassandra fight, though the latter ultimately wins. Raphtalia contacts Buzz for assistance, but one of the Sons shoots her helmet, breaking it and rendering her unable to breathe. The Sons then capture Raphtalia and Loona.
Episode 3: Cheers to the Tin-Man[]
In flashbacks, G.I. Bender joins the Easy Company in fighting during World War II. In the 1960s, the United States government hands the decommissioned G.I. off to scientist Rick Sanchez for study. In the 1990s, Bender is found in an antiques shop by collector Al McWhiggin, who accepts the former into his home. Eventually, Bender learns that Al is part of a neo-Nazi group and carries out his directive: to kill all Nazis and their allies. After killing Al, among other neo-Nazis, Bender is arrested and sentenced to imprisonment in Belle Reve. In the present, Task Force M arrives at Callaghan's mansion and rescues Raphtalia and Loona, but Buzz realizes that it was a ruse for Cassandra and the Sons to attack Malty's castle. The team returns to find the castle under siege, but quickly dispatches the Sons with Bender's help. Cassandra destroys Bender and nearly kills Malty before she is stopped by Scrat and Vinz. A defeated Cassandra exclaims that Task Force M has doomed the world by stopping her.
Episode 4: Chasing Squirrels[]
In flashbacks, Scrat encounters and befriends eight school children. An old man attempts to kill him, believing he is a threat to them. In the ensuing conflict, the man causes an explosion that kills him and most of the children. Scrat tries to save the last child, but is arrested and incriminated for the deaths while the child dies. In the present, Task Force M returns to Belle Reve, where Buzz, Amaya and A.R.G.U.S. agent Buck Cluck interrogate Cassandra, who shows Amaya a vision of an apocalyptic future where Malty and her army overthrow various nations and kill superheroes. Amaya orders Buzz to return with Task Force M to Pokolistan to kill Malty. When he refuses, Amaya assigns Loona with leading the team in Buzz's place. Buzz returns home, where he is ambushed by Death, who has been secretly following Task Force M and came to believe Loona is in love with him. Buzz clears up the misunderstanding and the pair agree to work together to stop Task Force M from killing Malty and reunite Death with Loona.
Episode 5: The Iron Pot[]
In 1831, following the incident at Callaghan's mansion, Death is found by an old witch, who nurses him back to health. After making a full recovery, Death sets out to find Loona despite the witch trying to convince him that she does not love him back. As a result, Death kills the witch so that she would not have to live alone. In the present, Death and Buzz investigate Mirabel Madrigal's home and find her corpse, leading them to realize that the Mirabel who spoke to Amaya was an imposter. Buzz calls Malty and warns her about Task Force M returning to assassinate her before the fake Mirabel returns home and is revealed as Spot. Buzz and Death attempt to sneak out, but are caught by Spot. In the ensuing battle, Death defeats Spot using electrical wires, though Buzz is critically injured. Before passing out, Buzz convinces Death to tell Loona the truth. Meanwhile, Malty orders her Amethyst Knights to detain Task Force M, who get separated while fighting back.
Episode 6: Priyatel Skelet[]
In flashbacks, nuclear alchemist Varian receives funding from mob boss and town's mayor Mayor Muldoon to develop a cure for cancer using nuclear fusion. However, Varian realizes his true intentions and betrays him. Upon discovering this, Muldoon has Varian's family killed, frames him for his crimes, and tries to kill Varian with his nuclear equipment. Instead, Varian becomes a radioactive metahuman. Taking the name "Doctor Vinz", he kills Muldoon and takes over his criminal empire until he is captured and taken to Belle Reve by Batman. In the present, Death sends Buzz to a hospital and hijacks a private jet to reach Pokolistan. Concurrently, Binz encounters a Pokolistani child, who reminds him of his son, while Loona and Raphtalia find shelter in a brothel. Elsewhere, Scrat escapes into a forest, where he befriends a wolf pack before leaving them to find Malty, who reminds him of one of the children he befriended. As Malty assembles her forces, Task Force M reunites outside her castle.
Episode 7: A Very Funny Monster[]
In flashbacks, Raphtalia is born without her ears. Her father, Oak, builds a device to help her hear before experimenting on her, only to turn her into a Tanuki-like mutant. After years of homeschooling her, he enrolls her in a private school to help her socialize. However, she is bullied by other students, leading to her running away and living in Star City's sewers until she is captured by the police. Oak tries to intervene, but is killed. In the present, Death finds Task Force M, but Loona shoots him and leaves him for dead. Upon finding Malty, they task Raphtalia with assassinating her, but Scrat alerts Malty, who kills Raphtalia. The others are nearly captured before Amaya contacts them, having learned of Spot's deception. Loona privately confronts Malty, revealing she learned how she used Spt to trick Buzz before killing her. Sometime later, Loona, Vinz, Krul Tepes, Murray, Scrat, a rebuilt Bender, and Corporal form a new iteration of Task Force M. In a post-credits scene, Death recovers from his wounds and takes refuge with the old woman living near Callaghan's mansion.
