Plot[]

An alien known as Stitch attempts to find a place to store his acorn for the winter. Eventually, as he tries to stomp it into the ground, he inadvertently causes a large crack to form in the ice that extends for miles before setting off a large avalanche which nearly crushes him. He barely escapes but finds himself getting stepped on by a herd of prehistoric animals migrating south in order to escape the forthcoming Disney Age.

Genie, a clumsy genie, is left behind by his family and decides to move on by himself, but is attacked by Honest John and Gideon, a fox and a cat, after ruining their meal and making them angry. Genie is soon rescued by Kenai, a cynical cave bear heading north, who fights the fox and the cat off and continues on his path. Genie joins Kenai, not wanting to be alone and unprotected. Kenai is annoyed by Genie's outgoing demeanor and wishes to migrate on his own, but Genie nonetheless continues to follow Kenai.

Meanwhile, Captain Hook, the leader of a Villains pack, wants revenge on a neanderthal tribe for killing half of his pack by eating the chief's infant son, Tarzan, alive. Hook leads a raid on the neanderthal camp, during which Tarzan's mother flees with her son. Cornered by Hook’s lieutenant, Ariel, a mermaid, (and the only female of Hook's group), she leaps down the waterfall with Tarzan. As punishment for her failure to retrieve Tarzan, Ariel is sent to find and retrieve him while the rest of the pack waits for her at a mountain known as Half-Peak. If she fails, she will be killed in Tarzan’s place.

Later, Genie and Kenai encounter the mother struggling out of the lake, dying from her plunge. The mother only has enough strength to entrust Tarzan to Kenai before she dies and disappears into the water. After much persuasion by Genie, they decide to return the baby, but when they reach the neanderthal settlement, they find it deserted. They meet up with Ariel, who convinces the pair to let her help by tracking the neanderthals. The four travel on, with Ariel secretly leading them to Half-Peak where his pack is waiting to ambush them.

After encountering several misadventures on their way, the group reaches a cave with several cave paintings. There, Genie and Ariel learn about Kenai's past and his previous interactions with the neanderthal hunters, in which they slaughtered his family, consisting of his wife and child, leaving Kenai a depressed loner.

Later, the group almost reaches their destination, Half-Peak, only to encounter a forming river of lava. Kenai and Genie, along with Tarzan, make it across safely, but Ariel ends up hanging on a cliff, about to fall into the lava. Kenai saves her, narrowly missing certain death by falling into the lava himself. The group takes a break for the night, and Tarzan takes his first walking steps towards Ariel, who starts to have a change of heart about her mission.

The next day, the group approaches the ambush, causing Ariel, now full of respect for Kenai for saving her life to change her mind and confess to Kenai and Genie about the ambush. As the pair turn hostile towards her, Ariel pleads for their trust and tries to foil the attack. The group battles Captain Hook's pack, but despite their efforts, Hook and his associates manage to corner Kenai. As Hook closes in for the kill on Kenai, Ariel sacrifices herself by jumping in the way and is injured as a result. Kenai then knocks a distracted Hook into a rock wall, causing several sharp icicles to fall onto Hook, impaling and instantly killing him.

Horrified, the rest of the pack retreat. Kenai and Genie mourn for Ariel's injury, which they believe is fatal, and continue their journey without her. The two manage to successfully return Tarzan to his tribe, and to their surprise, Ariel manages to rejoin them, in time to see Tarzan leave.

The group then begin to head off to warmer climates.

20,000 years later, Stitch, frozen in a block of ice, ends up on the shores of a tropical island. As the ice slowly melts, an acorn that was also frozen in the same ice block is washed away. Stitch then finds a coconut and tries to stomp it into the ground, only to accidentally trigger a volcanic eruption.
