Gunmar The Black is the secondary antagonist of Trollhunters. He is the warlord of the Gumm-Gumm Army and father of Bular. He was imprisoned in the Darklands for centuries along with his army of Gumm-Gumms by Deya the Deliverer. and Member of the Lightning Dust's team

In London, Gunmar and the rest of the team attacked Interpol headquarters where a list of locations to where the final competent for the Nightshade device could be located on several military bases. When Thomas O'Conner, Shining Armor and Princess Cadance arrived at Interpol, they were fired upon by Gunmar, sniping their cars from above. When Jessica arrived in her ramp car, she led Darcy, his son Bular and Nikki McKenna away from Interpol. Cadance attempted to fire on the Gunamr's retreating teammates. He fires on Cadance at the last second and misses on account of Shining pulling her out of the way. Greta Wolfcastle appears from the entrance of the rooftop and tells him they have to move.
Later, at Dust's headquarters, Gunmar and the others learn that Starlight Glimmer was once involved with Miles Taylor. The team grow suspicious of Starlight, though she denies ever knowing him on account of her amnesia. When Dust and his team relocate to Spain, Gunmar infiltrates the NATO military base. Later, when Dust is apprehended by Frank Shaver and Jenny Jenkins, Gunmar and the others are brought out their cells with him.
Dust explains that he has Trixie Lulamoon hostage would kill her if they tried to follow them. When they leave, they pursued by Miles Taylor and his crew. Gunmar pursues Shining and Cadance during her attempt to fire one of Sunset Shimmer's modified version of Gladys's harpoon. The harpoon hits the wing of the plane and draws Adolfson's and Han's Dodge Charger against each other. Adolfson pulls Gisele out of the Dodge and tries to throw her from the car.
Shining is able to fight him off, but loses her balance. Cadance is able to catch before she falls from the edge of Gunmar's car. When Gunmar recovers from Shining's attack, she frees herself from Cadance and pulls out her gun. She manages to shoot Gunmar to the shoulder before falling to her death. Cadance beats Gunmar repeatedly in a fit of rage before throwing him into the engine of the cargo plane, killing him.
