Guineafowl, Kenyan Crested.jpg

The Kenyan crested guineafowl (Guttera pucherani) is a member of the Numididae, the Guineafowl bird family. It is found in open forest, woodland and forest-savanna mosaics in Sub-Saharan Africa. Its plumage is dark gray to black with whitish spots. Its most recognizable feature is the mop-like crest of black feathers on its head. The rest of the head and neck are bare, with red skin around the eyes and bluish skin elsewhere.
