Much like his older self, Lightning is an athlete without fear and aims to be the best. Most of Lightning's negative traits from the main series have been toned down; instead of a rude, aggressive bully who only thinks of himself, Lightning in this series shows more heroic traits such as saving Cody from one of Duncan's traps and later chastising him for his cruelty. In fact, Lightning is practically the only person who doesn't mistreat Cody the way many of the other characters in the show do, a contrast to the older Lightning who never shows respect to anyone but himself. He also has better social skills than his teenage self, capable of motivating others with a speech, and he now refers to himself with "I" or "me", instead of in third person.
