Long-tailed weasel nps
A prolific hunter, the long-tailed weasel (Mustela frenata) feeds mainly on rodents and other small mammals. Although mainly terrestrial, the long-tailed weasel can also climb and swim. Both male and female long-tailed weasels are territorial, leading solitary lives apart from during the breeding season. Long-tailed weasels in the north of their range turn white in the winter, while their southern counterparts keep the same coat colour year-round.
