The Malagasy Crowned Eagle (Stephanoaetus mahery) is a extinct species of eagle lived in Madagascar until the 1500s, was probably bigger than the extant Crowned Eagle. It could be preyed on lemurs equivalent to Harpy Eagle preyed on monkeys and sloths and Philippine Eagle preyed on colugos and macaques, they were the source of the sightings of the legendary Rukh.
