Megalochelys atlas, formerly known as colossochelys atlas, geochelone atlas, testudo atlas, or megalochelys sivalensis. Is extinct, fossils are known from the Pleistocene of Asia. It was the biggest tortoise ever, it's size was about 2.5 meters in shel, there is also a extinct genus of giant tortoise lives in the Pleistocene Americas called Hesperotestudo which size rivals to modern day Galapagos tortoise.
