Popis is a recurring character in the series, "El Chavo". She was performed, like her aunt Florinda, by actress Florinda Meza. In the Animated Chavo, she was voiced by Erica Edwards, the same one who doubled her aunt.

La Popis is the cousin of Quico, niece of Doña Florinda and romantic interest of Ñoño (in the original series). He replaced Quico in later years, in situations similar to those of the absent character, and even lives with his aunt Florinda at No. 14. In the animated series, she was in love with Chavo and not Ñoño. This is because, in that series, she replaced Chilindrina with copyright issues; and, because Chilindrina was in love with Chavo, the Popis needed a personality change, though only for that series. Popis was performed, like her aunt Florinda, by actress Florinda Meza. In the Animated Chavo, she was dubbed by Erika Edwards, the same one who doubled her aunt. The character gained importance after the departure of Carlos Villagrán in 1978, and even more so in the program Chespirito.

Popis usually has a good temperament, although it is somewhat more introverted than other children. Despite her apparent little intelligence, she is often one of the most judicious in the classroom and sometimes a good student. She is a little immature for her age, which is reflected in the fact that she always carries her Serafina doll with her; even when she does some mischief or is caught having said something she shouldn't have, she blames the doll, saying "Serafina, that's not right," and adds "Here, have, have," while spanking her. She shares some traits with Quico, such as being pampered, but unlike quico, she is neither selfish nor smug. In both Mexico and the Dominican Republic,"Popis" is used to designate someone of high economic resources who boasts to the poorest (which Popis rarely does). Popis used to have a gangous voice (as the children say "if I had a cold" or "if I was eating pinole") but from the chapter of El Cumpleaños de Quico I started to have a normal voice.

Popis is a thin, taller girl than Chilindrina. She has dark brown hair collected in two ponytails on the sides, held by red bows. She usually wears a light pink dress with white vertical stripes and blue squares, white or pink stockings and black shoes. Beginning in 1980 and ending in 1992, her dress is fuchsia with green sleeves and a stripe of the same color in the middle; in these cases, the ties in his hair are also fuchsia. She usually always wears an orange-haired rag doll, blue dress and blue cap with white polka dots, and a yellow apron called Serafina, whom he blames for his antics.

In 1974, a gentleman complained to Roberto Gómez Bolaños, because the Popis had a gangy voice and his 12 year old son had that condition which generated mockery, and told him that he would never see any of his programs again. Therefore, the character ceased to appear for about a year (her last appearance being the second part of the Ramoncito saga). The character then returned to the series in 1975( Quico's Birthday),but with a voice of a normal girl.

In both Mexico and the Dominican Republic, Popis means "fine people", its meaning has similarity to the word "Fifi".
According to her, in the episode Take Care of the Water, she failed the admission exam from a mentally retarded school.
From 1980 (in Chespirito),he became one of the main characters, replacing Quico several times.
In the animated series, she replaces chilindrina several times. This is because the rights of Chilindrina belong to María Antonieta de las Nieves instead of the Chespirito Group, so they could not use it without coming into contact with the actress.
In the episode Quico's Birthday, the Popis appeared along with her Aunt Florinda using Chroma Key special effects to simulate their dialogue.
In the Animated Chavo, Serafina (Popis' doll) looks more like a stuffed animal.
