Ron Weasley is the deuteragonist of the Harry Potter book/movie series.
He had received a Howler on his second year from his mother for stealing his father's Flying Ford Anglia to help himself and Harry get to Hogwarts School after they missed the Howarts Express train and crashing it into the Whomping Willow, and as a result, he and Harry also received a detention. He has broken his wand at that time.
He once had a pet rat named Scabbers, but it turned out to be an Animagius of Peter Pettigrew aka Wormtail, who had betrayed the Potter family on the night of James and Lily Potter's deaths at the hands of Lord Voldemort, as revealed in his third year.
In his forth year, he receives an owl named Pigwidgeon in placed of Scabbers. His mother sends him dress robes for the formal occasions, which he is appalled and dismayed to wear. His date is Padme Patil for the Yule Ball, whom he neglects most of the night as he watches Hermione dancing with Viktor Krum, while Harry Potter neglects his Yule Ball date Parvati Patil as he watches Cho Chang (whom he had a crush on) dancing with Cedric Diggory. He is also one of the hostages held underwater beneath the Great Lake during the TriWizard Tournament second task (along with Hermione Granger, Cho Chang and Gabrielle Delacour), and is rescued by Harry (along with Gabrielle) although by one minute over the limit.
Shortly after the death of Dumbledore, Voldemort begins his search for Harry Potter in both the Muggle World and the Wizarding World. Ron, Harry and Hermione begin their Horcrux Hunt by sneaking into Gringotts bank (via disguises) and find one of the Horcruxes.
Ron temporarily leaves the group, but he returns and rescues Harry from drowning in the frozen lake, when the former foolishly attempts to retrieve the Sword of Godric Gryffindor from the bottom of the lake.
Ron manages to destroy Salazar Slytherin's Locket.
At the end of the second wizarding war against Voldemort, he is married to Hermione Granger and he has two children (a daughter named Rose and a son named Hugo).
