Sonic (Shrek) is a 2001 American computer-animated comedy film loosely based on the 1991 game picture book of the same name by Sega. Directed by Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson in their directorial debuts, it stars Benjamin Schwartz, Colleen Villard, Sara Hickman and Jim Carrey as the voices of the lead characters. In the story, an hedgehog called Sonic (Schwartz) finds his game overrun by many heroes who have been banished by the corrupt Dr. Eggman (Carrey) aspiring to be king. Sonic makes a deal with Eggman to regain control of his games in return for rescuing Kristen (Hickman), whom Eggman intends to marry. With the help of Tails (Villard), Sonic embarks on his quest but soon falls in love with the princess, who is hiding a secret that will change his life forever.
