A Beautiful Day:[]

  • (Riley, Elycia, and Tiffany are Out in the Woods, Chopping Down a Tree)
  • Riley: Timber!
  • (The Tree Falls Down)
  • Tiffany: There you go!
  • (Riley, Elycia, and Tiffany Pick up the Tree and Go to the Place)
  • (Riley Chops Wood and are Talking to Elycia and Tiffany)
  • Riley: It isn't often we visited and it is just as good as I thought.
  • (But One Day, Colonel Trike and his Troops Arrive)
  • (They Look at Riley and Elycia)
  • Colonel Trike: Hey, Riley. Have you also been greeted by the viper?
  • Riley: No, there's been no viper here. Not what I've noticed.
  • Elycia: Have you looked in the trees?
  • Colonel Trike: You probably would've noticed if you had. It's a carnivore. It's been with me last night and eaten a mouse. But it's not going to happen again. Next time Stan and his gang see you, they'll catch them. You should bring the other things with you, Riley. Tonight it might come here, when it's discovered we saw this.
  • (So Trike and his Troops Go)
  • Elycia: Well, you think Stan and his gang are coming here tonight?
  • (Elycia Looks for Trike and his Troops)
  • Riley: Yep. Then it's just as well that we put things together right away. Right, Tiffany?
  • Tiffany: I think you should play a prank with Stan and his gang instead. The vipers or Stan and his gang, I don't trust for a second.
  • (Elycia Laughs): Don't you think it's good that they shoot the arrows then? Otherwise, the viper will come and eat the mice instead.
  • Tiffany: You shouldn't shoot the vipers, you should trick them. I always do.
  • (Elycia Chuckles): Well, we can imagine that. We agree with you, Tiffany. It's a shame to shoot the viper. We'll probably think of some way to fool the viper away instead so that they never want to eat a mouse again.
  • (But Stan and his Gang Sit Behind the Tree and Watch Riley and Elycia)
  • Stan: We will steal the treasure so that we become richer than richest.
  • Joanna: Right, Stan. Let's keep an eye out.

Elycia's Idea:[]

  • (Elycia Begins to Think, Ponder, and Think)
  • Elycia: Sometimes some sounds are heard from me when I come up with something good or when I realize that what I have just come up with wasn't so good.
  • (Finally Elycia Bites into the Air, and Growls, then a Frightened 'Uh' Then She Laughs)
  • Elycia: Do we have any pepper at home?
  • Tiffany: I guess there are always a few pounds.
  • Riley: Then we'll go build a mouse. It's best that you bring into the house so that the viper doesn't coming to bite you.
  • (Tiffany Snickering): He'd just dare.
  • (But Tiffany Follows Anyway)

Building the Invented Mouse:[]

  • (In the Workshop, There's Everything Riley and his Friends Need to Fool a Viper)
  • (Riley and Elycia Look for a Small White Balloon and a Roll of Steel Wire in the Shoemaker's Box)
  • (Then Riley Starts Messing Around in an Old Bag That's on the Shelf)
  • Riley: But where's the pepper, Tiffany? It should be here and nowhere else. I'm in order, I know.
  • Tiffany: I guess the pepper has never been in that bag as far as I know. It's always in the bicycle basket. You should know that by now.
  • Riley: Yeah, that's right. That's right.
  • (Riley Picks up a Large Bag of Pepper from the Bicycle Basket)
  • (Riley Steps on the Balloon on a Funnel, and Pours in as Much Pepper as Can Fit)
  • (Riley Then Inflates the Balloon So That it Almost Explodes)
  • Riley: Now we need some fur. Do you have any fur, Tiffany?
  • Tiffany: Fur? I'm a human, I guess I have no fur either. Ask Katrina.
  • (Katrina is Watching What Riley, Elycia and, Tiffany are Doing)
  • Tiffany: Katrina! We need fur to fool the viper away.
  • (Katrina Smiles)
  • Riley: You may offer a few each, for your own good.
  • Katrina: Good idea.
  • Tiffany: I don't understand it at all.
  • Elycia: You will, Tiffany, you will.
  • (Katrina Goes in to the Other Riley's Friends)
  • (While They are Discussing, Riley Wraps a Wire Around the Balloon and Bends it So That it Has a Neck and Legs)
  • (Eventually, Katrina Returns with a Bag of Fur)
  • Katrina: Here you are. Remember: we'll have them.
  • Riley: Yes, yes. You'll get it.
  • (Riley Starts Sticking Fur on the Balloon)
  • (Riley Makes a Nose, and Ears, and Tail, and Tiffany Helped)
  • (When They are Finally Done, the Balloon Looks Almost Like a Mouse)
  • Tiffany: That was the nicest mouse I've ever seen.
  • Katrina: I'll say.
  • Tiffany: But what are we going to do with it
  • Riley: It's gonna bite the viper. Then he comes sneaking like this at night. Sneak, sneak, sneak... And then he sees the mouse standing there all alone. Then he slithers and attacks himself over it. Arrgh! And puts his fangs in it. And then it explodes. Bang! Then he gets so scared that he catches his breath. And then he gets pepper in his mouth and nose. And starts sneezing and spitting. And then he never wants to eat a mouse again.
  • (Riley's Friends Applaud)
  • Tiffany: Then you can figure it out, Riley.

Setting the Firecrackers:[]

  • (They Put the Mouse in the Yard and Look at it)
  • Tiffany: It's nice.
  • Elycia: Yes.
  • (And Then it's Quiet for a While)
  • Tiffany: I'm wondering if this is enough. Couldn't it pop a little more when we're still on? So that he really understands that he's not welcome.
  • Riley: You like it when it's banging.
  • Tiffany: Yes, I do. Uh... no. Nothing special. But I'm thinking of those mice.
  • Riley: Yeah, yeah. You're thinking about them. I see.
  • (Riley Pulls his Nose and Thinks for a Moment)
  • Riley: You may be right. We can always put out a little firecracker even if he's a hard time grasping. But it's best that you come along so that the mouse doesn't explode on you.
  • Tiffany: I guess I'm not a viper either.
  • (Tiffany Snickers, But Follows Anyway)
  • (Elycia Goes Back into the Workshop and Starts Looking in all the Old Paint Cans That are on the Stove)
  • Elycia: But where are the firecrackers, if I may ask? It was full of firecrackers the day before yesterday and now it's over. Tiffany?
  • Tiffany: As far as I know, they always lie in the hat box next to the door.
  • Elycia: Yes, it can happen. That's right.
  • (Elycia Picks her Pockets Full of Firecrackers and Fuse, and Bengali Fires From the Hat Box)
  • (Stan and his Gang Keep an Eye Out for Riley and Elycia Who Build)
  • Stan: You guys keep an eye out of these?
  • Juan: Yes, Stan. I think they'll sneak and steal the treasure tonight.
  • Stan: Very nice.

Tiffany Gets a Plan:[]

  • (Then They Go Out and Put the Firecrackers Around the Whole Yard)
  • (Riley and Elycia All Connect with the Fuse and Pull it Through the Gap Under the Front Door Through the Hall, into the Bedroom and up to the Bed)
  • (There, Riley Places a Box of Matches)
  • Riley: So, that should be enough to fool a viper. Then it goes like this: That when the viper comes tonight he rushed at the balloon mouse, bites it so that it explodes and then when we hear the bang, so I lit the fuse. And in the next second it starts banging and popping and flashing around the whole yard. And if he's not scared then I don't know what a viper it is.
  • (Tiffany Stands Silent, and Watches the Fuse)
  • Tiffany: The vipers are really stupid really. I wonder if some firecrackers are enough to really make him understand that he shouldn't eat mice. Can't we haunt him too? When we are still doing it.
  • Riley: You with your ghosts. I think this is enough.
  • (But at the Same Time, Riley and Elycia Begin to Think About Whether They Can Arrange a Good Ghost)
  • (And the More They Think, the More Fun it Become)
  • (As Soon as they Stand in the Yard Again)
  • (They Mumble to Themselves, and Look up into the Air to the Right and Left)
  • Elycia: Now we're going to build a rope slide. It's best you follow Tiffany so it doesn't start banging on your butt.
  • Tiffany: What a talk.
  • (Tiffany Snickers, and Follows)

Tiffany Disguises as a Ghost:[]

  • (Riley and Elycia Stand and Stare at the Wall in the Workshop)
  • Riley: Once I had a long rope! I rolled it up smartly and neatly. I hung it up on that nail. There now hangs a violin. Are you the one who conjured it, Tiffany?
  • (Tiffany Groans in Boredom)
  • Tiffany: You never hung a rope on that nail, Riley. You put it in the car tire.
  • Riley: Yeah, it must be so, but still.
  • (Riley Pulls the Rope out of the Deck)
  • (Tiffany Picks up a Ghost Sheet, and Puts it On and Pretends to Be a Ghost)
  • (Riley and Elycia Look at Tiffany)
  • Elycia: You look good, Tiffany.
  • Tiffany: Thanks, Elycia. Could you get me the wheel and attach it to an iron bar?
  • (Elycia Picks up a Wheel That's Attached to An Iron Bar)
  • (Riley and Elycia Go Out and Tighten the Rope Between the Roof of the Big House and the Tree on the Other Side of the Yard)
  • (Then Riley Hangs the Wheel on the Rope)
  • Riley: Come here, Tiffany, and you can ride the rope slide.
  • (Tiffany Climbs the Steps and Riley Ties a Rope Around her Waist and Shows Her How to Hang in)
  • (Riley Then Lets her Go)
  • Tiffany: Whee! Woohoo!
  • (The Ghost Slides Away Across the Yard and a Few Seconds Later she Jumps Off the Trees on the Other Side)
  • Riley: Pretty good. Then it will be like this: When I lit the fuse last night, you run up to the attic and put on the ghost sheet and when it bangs and flashes at its worst, you jump out the window and tie yourself on your waist with a rope and hang yourself on a rope slide and when you're in the middle of the viper, you scream as horribly as you ever can: "You shouldn't chew mice!" instead of "Whee!" Then she should understand.
  • Tiffany: Yeah, you think so.
  • (Tiffany Smiles)
  • (Tiffany Will Now Get Both Fireworks and Ghosts, and a Rope Slide for Free)
  • Elycia: Now that's enough. Now we go in and drink coffee.
  • (And So They Do)

The Viper Comes at Night:[]

  • (It's Exciting That Night)
  • (Before it Gets Dark, Riley Takes All his Friends into the Kitchen)
  • Riley: You must be quiet and take turns guarding the flowerpot in the window all night. If you see the viper, you would rush in and wake us.
  • (Several Times During the Evening he Walks Around and Makes Sure that the Balloon Mouse is Properly Positioned That the Fuse is in Order and That the Wheel Hangs at the Top of the Rope Slide)
  • (When they Go to Bed, they Think Once More About What Will Happen)
  • (In the Middle of the Night, When they Sleep Best, the Viper Shall Come)
  • (He Shall Run Forward and Bite the Balloon Mouse so that it explodes)
  • (Then They will Wake up, Riley will Light the Fuse and Tiffany will Run up in the Attic)
  • (And When it Hits Hardest out in the Yard, Tiffany Shall Tie the Ropes at her Waist on the Rope Slide, Go Away and Shout: "You shouldn't attack the vipers!")
  • (And Then the Viper will Disappear and Never Come Back)
  • (That's How it will Be Tonight, they Think)
  • (In a Few Hours, They Fall Asleep, Or in a Few Minutes, Or the Next Second)
  • (Eventually, Tiffany Becomes so Tired of Being Nervous that She Falls Asleep)
  • (But Riley and Elycia Can't Sleep)
  • (They Just Lay and Listen in the Dark, and Wait)
  • (But Everything is Quiet, No, By the Way. it's Something That's Heard)
  • (Or Does he Just Feel That There's Something out There in the Dark)
  • (They Both Get Out of Bed and Sneak into the Big Room and Peek Out)
  • (There is the Viper, it Sneaks Around and Sniffs)
  • Riley: Maybe that's why he's chewing mice. He can't bear to run after a hare. He'll have a heartbeat if we start the fireworks. I don't care to lit the fuse.
  • (Now the Viper Sees the Balloon Mouse that Stands There Alone in the Middle of the Yard)
  • (Slowly, Slowly he Sneaks Towards it)
  • (Then he Rushed Towards it and Stops Right in Front of it)
  • (He Sniffs Gently at it and Then Slithers Away and Disappears Behind the House)
  • (Riley and Elycia Go to the Window Towards the Back to See Where the Viper Gets)
  • (It Slithers Away and Sits Looking at the House)
  • (Riley and Elycia Feel Sorry For it)
  • Elycia: It's too gloomy for Stan and his gang to steal the treasure.
  • (The Viper Stays Put, it's Barely Visible in the Dark and the Wall Clock Ticked Slowly)
  • (Everything is Quiet and Peaceful)

Blast for Scare:[]

  • (Stan and his Gang See at Riley's House)
  • Stan: The time has come to take the treasure.
  • (Stan's Gang Agree as Stan and his Gang Go)
  • (But Nigel Sees the Balloon Mouse and Sniffs at it)
  • (Then Came the Bang, The Balloon Explodes)
  • (Nigel Begins to Sneeze and Spit, Loud and Clear)
  • (Tiffany Stands up Like a Trampoline)
  • Tiffany: A viper! Where are Riley and Elycia?! Don't let anything about myself!
  • (Tiffany Lights the Fuse)
  • (Two Seconds Later, it Starts Clattering and Popping and Flashing All Around the Yard)
  • (Tiffany Rushes Up to the Attic, Puts on the Ghost Sheet, Opens the Window, Ties a Rope to her Waist, and Throws Herself on the Rope Slide)
  • Tiffany: You shouldn't steal treasure! What? That's not what I'd say. I was wrong. But it turned out right.
  • (Tiffany Sees That it's Not the Viper Who's Standing There in the Middle of the Commotion, but Stan and his Gang)
  • (Stan and his Gang Stare at the Ghost that Comes Fluttering)
  • Stan: No, help! We promise! We promise!
  • (Then it Becomes Very Quiet)
  • (The Rockets are Over and the Ghost Has Disappeared up the Tree)
  • (Tiffany Takes off her Ghost Sheet)
  • (Stan's Gang Run Away and Stan Stands Completely Confused and Looks Around)
  • (Just a Small Firecracker That Does Not Have Time to Lie Down and Pop Quietly to Itself)
  • (Stan Moans in Horror and Disappears up the Road)

A Successful Victory:[]

  • (When Everything is Quiet and Calm, Tiffany Jumps Down From the Tree and Runs into the Kitchen)
  • (There Sits Riley and Elycia Laughing)
  • Elycia: You did well, Tiffany. It didn't turn out as we had hoped. But that viper will certainly not come here again anyway.
  • Tiffany: What? It wasn't the viper who was here. It was Stan and his bandit gang. said Tiffany, looking very strange.
  • Riley: Yeah, we saw it. But the viper has also been here. When you slept. But he didn't want the balloon mouse. He sat behind the bush and stared in horror at the fireworks. He probably saw when the balloon mouse exploded also because when it had exploded he took entered here in the kitchen and came straight into the arms of my friends who were staring at him. But he didn't touch them. He got so scared that he turned on the direct. He thought they would explode too. But at least he managed to snatch a cookie that we would have for dessert tomorrow.
  • Tiffany: Some viper, huh? But, we can offer it. You are very welcome to make a new cookie. Aren't you?
  • Riley and Elycia: Yes.
