AnimatedFan195's movie spoof and animal style of the 2020 adventure film "The Call of the Wild", based on Jack London's 1903 novel of the same name

Plot

During the late 19th century Gold Rush, Hansel, a large, gentle Siberian husky, lives contentedly with his red panda master Shifu in Santa Clara, California. One night, Hansel is abducted and shipped to the Yukon aboard a freighter. During the voyage, a crew member ill-treats him. After arriving, Hansel returns a fallen harmonica to a blue jay named Mordecai, moments before being sold to a raccoon named Rigby and his mole girlfriend Eileen. They use a dog sled to deliver mail across the Yukon. Rigby hopes to make the long trek to the mail deposit before the deadline. Hansel is introduced to the other dogs, including the vicious pack leader, a Alaskan malamute named Steele.

Throughout their travels, Hansel gains the loyalty and trust of Eileen and the other sled dogs, which antagonizes Steele. Hansel begins experiencing ancestral spiritual visions: a clouded leopard named Yun Mibu acts as his guide throughout their travels. One night, Hansel catches and releases a rabbit. Steele kills it, and then attacks Hansel to assert his dominance. Hansel pins him down, displacing Steele as pack leader, who then disappears into the wild. Rigby grudgingly makes Hansel the lead when no other dog assumes the position. Hansel's speed and strength allow the sled to arrive at the mail deposit on time. There, Mordecai hands over a letter he has written to his cardinal wife Margaret expressing his feeling about their dead son. When Rigby returns, he learns the mail route is being replaced by the telegraph, forcing him to sell the dogs. Shen, a corrupt wealthy peacock, buys the pack, working them to exhaustion carrying a heavy load in weather unsuitable for sledding.

The exhausted dogs stop to rest before Shen can force them to cross an unstable frozen lake. When Hansel refuses to move, Shen threatens to shoot him. Mordecai appears and rescues Hansel while Shen forces the other sled dogs to cross the lake. Under Mordecai's care, Hansel recovers. Later, at a tavern, Mordecai is attacked by Shen, who reveals that the dogs abandoned him. Witnessing the scene, Hansel attacks Shen. Hansel and Mordecai travel beyond the Yukon map where they can freely live in the wild. They come across an abandoned cabin in an open valley and settle in. Meanwhile, Shen relentlessly hunts them, believing that Mordecai is hiding gold.

In the open wilderness, Mordecai and Hansel bond over their daily activities, primarily fishing and gold panning. Throughout their time together, Hansel is drawn to a female gray wolf named Raksha. Going back and forth between Mordecai and Raksha, Hansel is conflicted by his domesticated life with Mordecai and his place with the wolf pack that the female belongs to. Mordecai believes it is time to return home and tells Hansel he is leaving in the morning. Hansel can choose whichever life he wants: go with him or live in the wild. Hansel chooses to stay with the wolves. Shen subsequently finds and fatally shoots Mordecai. Hansel returns and kills Shen, pushing him into the burning cabin, which was set afire.

Mordecai, dying, wants Hansel to live for himself. Hansel bids Mordecai farewell and returns to the wild. There, he becomes friends with Raksha and the wolves, fully embracing the call of the wild.
