The Jaguar King II: Sambo's Prowl (later retitled The Jaguar King 2: Sambo's Prowl) is a 1994 American animated romantic musical film. It is also the first direct-to-video release from Gaumont Animation and a sequel to Gaumont's 1990 animated feature film, The Jaguar King. The story takes place in a kingdom of jaguars in South America and was influenced by William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. According to director Charles Grosvenor, the final draft gradually became a variation of Romeo and Juliet.
Produced by Gaumont Home Entertainment and Wang Film Productions Co, Ltd. and released on July 18, 1994, the film centers on Sambo and Nia's daughter Karina, who falls in love with Kavo, a male rogue jaguar from a banished prowl that was once loyal to Sambo's evil uncle, Marcar. Separated by Sambo's prejudice against the banished streak and a vindictive plot planned by Kavo's mother Zeni, Karina and Kavo struggle to unite their estranged streaks and be together.
