Transcript:

Tevin Interrupts the Film:

  • (Scene Opens to a House)
  • (Paramount Pictures presents)
  • Narrator: Now this might be the house of any person. But it happens to belong to a girl named Milly Aniston. And like usual girls, Milly met other friends and crossover characters. And together they had many adventures in an enchanted place called Rosemary-Land. But of all the adventures, this show of all time was Rosemary Hills, staring your hero, Milly Aniston.
  • Tevin: Milly Aniston? Wait just a minute. It seems to me, that most of these things are about the leader of Rosemary-Land.
  • Narrator: Well, then, Tevin, what should this movie be about?
  • Tevin: Well, I happen to know somebody who's extremely handsome. Not to mention mischievous, and adventurous.
  • Narrator: But the title already says "Rosemary Hills".
  • Tevin: Oh, that's easy to fix.
  • (Tevin Knocks the Book Down, Accidentally)
  • (Tevin Then Fixes the Title)
  • (Tevin Finishes Fixing the Title)
  • ("The Tevin Movie" Title Appears on the Book)
  • Tevin: There. Now, that's what I call a wonderful title. And speaking of wonderful things-- (Chuckles)
  • (Tevin Jumps in the Book)

"Wonderfully Leap":

  • (Tevin Does his Leaping)
  • Tevin: "You know you're in in the presence of greatness when you're doing a wonderfully leap. Animals bow down before him, birds flutter and cheap. Everyone all over Rosemary-Land lets you do something sleep. You know you're in the presence of greatness when you're doing a wonderfully leap."
  • (Tevin Accidentally Bumps into Milly)
  • Tevin: Hello, Milly. Sorry to bump into you, but it's my thing.
  • Milly: I know. You bumped into me plenty and plenty of times.
  • Tevin: Yeah. Fun, isn't it? Hey, you wanna go have fun with me? Having fun is what I do...
  • (SQUISH)
  • Tevin: ...best.
  • Milly: Yes, I'd love to go leap with you, Tevin,
  • (Tevin Gets his Foot Stuck in a Cookie Jar)
  • Milly: if it weren't for the fact that I have to count all these cookies to know that they're enough for the winter.
  • (Tevin Tries to Get the Jar Off his Foot)
  • Milly: Hold still, please!
  • (Milly Gets the Cookie Jar Off Tevin's Foot)
  • Milly: Brother.
  • Tevin: Yuck! What does Milly know about cookies anyway? Well, no time for goofing off. I have a lot of fun to do. Toodle-oo, Milly!
  • (Tevin Slams the Door)
  • (Milly Sighs with Exasperation)
  • (Melanie Shiver and Shake with Cold)
  • Melanie: Oh, man. I can't reach.
  • (Tevin Bumps into Melanie)
  • Tevin: Hey, there, Melanie! What do you say we go leaping together?
  • Leah: Leaping? Oh, no. I don't have firewood so it is enough for the winter.
  • Tevin: Boo-yah. But there's a lot of firewood. Look! It's everywhere.
  • (Tevin Throws a Wooden Chair in the Fireplace)
  • (Melanie Screams)
  • Tevin: There. See? Now we can have fun!
  • Melanie: But we would prefer that our firewood didn't have much chair in it?
  • Tevin: Oh. Well, y'all see ya later. Got a lotta fun to do.
  • (Katie is at her House, Watching Emmy and Max)
  • Tevin: Hello, Joey and Elaine's mother, ma'am.
  • Joey and Elaine's Mother: Well, hello to you, Tevin, dear.
  • (Tevin Giggles): She called me dear. Excuse me if I ask, but you don't want to leap around with me for a moment, do you?
  • (Joey and Elaine See Tevin, and Smile)
  • Joey and Elaine's Mother: No, I think I have too much to do this morning, dear friend.
  • Tevin: Oh. Well, if you have to-- I'll see you later.
  • (Tevin Walks Away)
  • Elaine: Tevin! Tevin! Te-vin.
  • (Elaine Sighs with Disappointment)

Janis Removes a Rock:

  • (Butterflies Fly in the Sky)
  • (Tevin Sits on a Rock, Sadly)
  • Tevin: I wonder why no one wants to leap with me? Hmm. (He Thinks for a Moment) Oh, well. What am I talking about? There are many here that I haven't asked yet. Boo-yah!
  • (A Rock Falls Down)
  • (George and Mina Look Up, and See the Rock Falling Down)
  • George: Look out!
  • (The Rock Falls on the Statue)
  • Mina: Oh, brother.
  • Narrator: And so, the others all came around to see what they might do to help.
  • (Page Turns)
  • Narrator: But the end of Mina's statue was merely the beginning of a very unfortunate day.
  • Emmy: Wow! Look at the size of it.
  • (Janis Clears her Throat): Your attention, please. I have officially completed the plans.
  • (Milly and her Friends Look Shocked)
  • Milly: What plans?
  • Janis: The plans! Uh, for removing this big boulder and restoring to Mina her beautiful statue.
  • Mina: You don't have to bother on my account, Janis.
  • Janis: All we need is a little, uh, team effort.
  • (Scene Fades to Janis on the Rock)
  • Janis: Janis' Rock-Remover. Now, then, Milly, release the counter weight.
  • (Milly Pulls the Lever, and it Moves)
  • Janis: Emmy and Max, you start pressurizing the gravity instructor.
  • (Emmy and Max Give it Some Pressure)
  • Janis: Leo and Leah? Leo! Leah! Start pulling your own weight over there.
  • Leo: But we don't weigh anything.
  • Janis: Oh, brother. Now, now, a little more over there.
  • (Milly Keeps Turning the Lever)
  • (Emmy and Max Keep Turning, Too)
  • (Leo and Leah Try to Hold the Rope)
  • (Mina is Lowered Down)
  • (The Branch Starts to Snap, but Doesn't)
  • (Milly's Pants Falls Down, and her Underwear is Seen)
  • Milly: Oh, brother.
  • (Milly Lets Go of the Lever)
  • (Leo Screams as he's Pulled to the Lever, Spinning)
  • (Max is Spinning, Too)
  • (Mina Lets Go)
  • (Max Spins Out of Control, Flies in the Sky, and Lands in Emmy's Arms)
  • Milly: Oh, man.
  • (The Remover Starts to Fall a Bit)
  • Janis: Oh, uh, let's see now. Where are the--?
  • (Emmy Comes to Milly, and Pulls her Pants Up)
  • (Milly Buttons her Pants)
  • Emmy: I wish we could have another helping hand.
  • Janis: Yes. All we really need is--
  • (Tevin Jumps in Janis' Arms)
  • Joey and Elaine: Tevin!
  • Tevin: Hello, folks! Anybody up for a little jumping and leaping?
  • Janis: No! No! No leaping. Look! Just look at all this work we have to do.
  • Tevin: What? Moving that old thing? (Chuckles) No problem-o. All it takes is a little leap here.
  • Melanie: But leaping won't move the rock, Tevin.
  • Tevin: Quiet, kid. Not a word. Now, let me see... (Mumbling)
  • (Tevin Finds a Spot, Tests the Breeze, and Points at the Spot)
  • Tevin: Right... about... there!
  • Janis: Huh. Leaping will move this boulder. (Soft Chuckle) How amusing.
  • (Tevin Starts to Prepare the Leaper-Deeper Loop-de-Looper-Ally-Jumpy-Leap)
  • (Elaine Looks Happy)
  • (Tevin Starts to Take the Mightiest Leap in the World, Going Past Janis)
  • (Tevin Hits the Tree, to Mina, Causing her to Spin, then to the Lever)
  • (Tevin Hits the Rock)
  • Tevin: Boo-yah!
  • (Janis Feels Like the Boulder Rolls Away)
  • (Milly and her Friends are Taken With)
  • (Milly and her Friends Screaming)
  • Janis: Help!
  • (Janis Gibbering)
  • (The Rock Falls in the Water with a Giant Splash)
  • (Elaine Falls in the Tree)
  • (Milly and her Friends Coughing)
  • Elaine: Awesome.
  • (John Coughing)
  • (George Rises Out of the Thornbush)
  • Tevin: Boo-yah! Now that that's out of the way,
  • (Janis Coughing)
  • Tevin: who's in a little leap now?
  • (Tevin Slaps Janis, Causing her to Fall in the Water)
  • Janis: What is it with you and leaping? Just look at my rock-remover.
  • (The Rock Falls in the Water)
  • Janis: Everything's ruined, and the only thing you think about is... (Groans) leaping?
  • Tevin: But that's what I do most.
  • George: Exactly. Not like us.
  • (John Sighs): I'm afraid she's right, buddy.
  • Melanie: What we're trying to tell you is we really can't leap like you, Tevin, anyway, because--
  • Milly: We're not like you.
  • (Tevin Looks Sadly at Janis)
  • (Janis Angrily Harrumphs)
  • (Tevin Feels Hurt in the Heart)
  • (Tevin Then Walks Away Sadly)
  • (Joey and Elaine Look at Tevin Sadly)
  • (Tevin Keeps Walking)

"Someone Like Me":

  • (Tevin Sits on a Log)
  • (Tevin Sniffles)
  • Tevin: I don't need them anyway.
  • (Tevin Sees Squirrels in the Tree)
  • (The Squirrels Talk to Each Other)
  • (Tevin Feels Bad)
  • Tevin: "Mostly I'm happy and I'm bouncy, because I am the onliest one."
  • Humming Birds: "Hmm hmm hmm."
  • Tevin: "But now all at once I feel so lonely for someone like me."
  • Mice: "Someone like me."
  • Tevin: "Right now I'm sorta feelin' downcy. I'm just about the loneliest one."
  • Humming Birds: "Hmm hmm hmm hmm."
  • Tevin: "And deep in my heart, I'm sort of wishin' for someone like me."
  • Bats: "Someone like me."
  • Tevin: "Somebody with springs and things, who laughs and sings and jumps everyday. Somebody who's fun, fun, fun, who loves to trounce and pounce, and bounce the gloomies away." (Sobs) "How I dream there is another, a double or a triple of me."
  • Fish: "To keep him company."
  • Tevin: "But since I'm awake I feel so lonely, because I know it can't be."
  • Animals: "It never can be."
  • Tevin: "Bein' the I'm the one and onliest someone...like me. Someone like me."
  • Joey: Tevin? Uh, Tevin? Don't be sad, Tevin.
  • Elaine: Yeah. Why don't you go leaping? That'll make you feel better.
  • Tevin: No one to leap with, kids.
  • Elaine: How about another person like you, Tevin?
  • Tevin: Another person like me? Um-- N-No. Th-That's impossible. That's crazy. I'm the only person.
  • Joey: But don't they have other people? We've got our parents. Don't you also have a family somewhere?
  • Tevin: Well, that's not possi-- Huh? Hmm. My own family you say? Can you imagine such a thing? Why, there'd be more people like me than you can shake at. And we'd all be leaping! Leaping morning to night! Boo-yah!
  • Elaine: But we could still leap with you. Right, Tevin?
  • Tevin: Boo-yah! My very own family!

Miranda has a Tea Party:

  • (At Miranda's House)
  • Miranda (Off-Screen): Oh, you wish to find your family, eh? (On-Screen) A most gratifying request indeed. Here you go. Have some cream and sugar.
  • (Miranda Sips her Cup of Tea)
  • Miranda: The search for Familius Genus Tiggeris. That is Latin, I believe. Or is it Greek? Speaking of family, why, my very own family portraits hang right over there, a collection I've gathered throughout the years. Notice the interesting twists and turns of its many branches stretching out across the ages.
  • (Tevin Takes a Drink of the Tea, but Spits it Out)
  • (Elaine Does the Same Thing)
  • (Tevin Looks Funny, but Looks at the Sugar Cubs)
  • Miranda (Off-Screen): It all comes from having strong roots, you know, and plenty of time to grow. In fact, I do believe that the very seed of my family began to germinate as far back as the 14th century when a great-great-great-grand Uncle Torbett of mine went out on a limb and proclaimed his blossoming love to a blooming young maid.
  • (Tevin Puts Some Sugar Cubes in his Cup, but One Falls Out)
  • (Tevin Goes Over to Get it, and Joey Looks at Him)
  • (Tevin Tries to Get the Cube, but Loses his Grip)
  • (The Globe Rolls to a Portrait)
  • (Joey Gasps)
  • Miranda: Never a bough did break in that--
  • (Tevin Catches the Pictures, but they All Fall Down)
  • (Miranda Gasps)
  • (Joey Coughing)
  • Miranda: Oh, my, young man. Are you okay? Have some more tea.
  • (Joey Looks at Tevin)
  • (Tevin Tries to Fix the Pictures)
  • Miranda (Off-Screen): Anyway, if I may go out on a limb here, I would first and foremost suggest for Tevin that to find one's family, one must first look up (On-Screen) one's family tree.
  • (Tevin Looks at the Pictures)
  • Miranda (Off-Screen): It does bring to mind a distant nephew of mine. A handsome fellow who became a sailor and fell in with a member of the feline--
  • (African Americans Like Tevin Appear in the Pictures)
  • Tevin: My family tree. My family tree! Why didn't I think of that? So long, Miranda! Thanks for the tip! Boo-yah!
  • Joey and Elaine: Boo-yah!
  • (Tevin, Joey, and Elaine Leave)
  • Miranda: Oh, my goodness. Was it something I said?

The Search for Family Begins:

  • Narrator: And so began the search for Tevin's great family tree. He searched high, he searched low. He searched near, and he searched far.
  • (Camera Pans to the Log Up High)
  • Tevin: Yoo-hoo! Family! Hello!
  • (Elaine Pants)
  • Elaine: Tevin, how are you gonna know which tree is your family tree?
  • Tevin: Why, it's obvious, Elaine. My family tree has got to be the biggest, hugest and most gigantic tree in Rosemary-Land on account of all the enormous, numerical, numerous numbers of African American family members that'll be on it. And besides, and furthermore, it'll be all dark skin, just like yours truly. The only question is, where could my family tree be?
  • (Tevin, Joey, and Elaine Keep Searching)
  • Janis: There. Good as new. Or as good as it was before, if I'm not mistaken.
  • (The Statue Stands Still)
  • Mina: Could be a little drafty.
  • (Janis Smiles)
  • George: Might leak a little.
  • (Emmy and Max Look Confused)
  • Mina: Sorta up sided.
  • (Milly and John Look Down)
  • George: Kinda cramped.
  • (Olivia and Penny Shrug)
  • Mina: Otherwise, a golden statue.
  • (Tevin Appears Next to the Statue, and the Statue Doesn't Break)
  • Tevin: Hey, George!
  • Joey and Elaine: Hey, Mina!
  • Milly and her Friends: Tevin!
  • Janis: Tevin?
  • George: Back to his old leapy self, I guess.
  • Tevin: Is this maybe an African American family tree up there?
  • Milly: Are you asking us to leap with you? 'Cause, you know, we would be glad if--
  • Tevin: Hello! African American family! Hello!
  • (Tevin Paces Around)
  • Tevin: What do I know? Hello!
  • Joey and Elaine: Hello!
  • Tevin: African Americans!
  • Joey and Elaine: African Americans!
  • Tevin: Come out, come out, wherever you are!
  • (Milly and her Friends Look Stunned)
  • John: Milly, I didn't know Tevin had a family.
  • Milly: Yes. Only it seems that he's lost them.
  • Mina: Looks like to be looking for them.
  • Emmy: Isn't that what we're supposed to be doing, too?
  • Milly: Hmm. Why, I think it must be, Emmy. I quite often forget this kind of thing.
  • (Milly and her Friends Set Off to Find Tevin's Family)
  • Milly: Aren't you coming, Janis?
  • Janis: Huh? To look for Tevin's family? Huh. As if one wasn't bad enough! No, no! No! I have too many winter preparations to make. And if all of you had any sense, you'd be doing the same. Hmm.
  • (The Statue Starts to Tip Over, and Janis Panics)
  • Milly: Come on.
  • (Milly and her Friends Look for Tevin's Family, Leaving Janis Behind)

"The Leaper-Deeper Loop-de-Looper-Ally-Jumpy-Leap":

  • Tevin: Hello!
  • Joey: Hello!
  • Tevin: African Americans!
  • Elaine: African Americans!
  • Tevin: Come out, come out wherever you are!
  • Elaine (Off-Screen): Hello!
  • Tevin: Just where are those African Americans anyway? We looked everywhere, not to mention right over there, and not a single black person in sight.
  • (Tevin, Joey, and Elaine Go to Tevin's House)
  • Tevin: Maybe I've been going 'bout this the whole way. Or maybe what I need to do is find a kind of clue as to all of their whereabouts.
  • Joey: What kind of clue?
  • Tevin: In here. Like a locket or something.
  • (Joey and Elaine Look in the Drawer)
  • Tevin: Maybe this belonged to my uncle! Whatever. And just think, if there are other African Americans like me, we could all do the Leaper-Deeper Loop-de-Looper-Ally-Jumpy-Leap! That's the best thing I do all the time.
  • Elaine: The Leaper-Deeper-- what kind of leap?
  • Tevin: Oh, you know, that thing I did when I pushed that big rock. It's the best thing I leap, only the bestest leap can leap.
  • Elaine: Only the bestest leapers ever can leap it.
  • Tevin: Could my aunt make this for me?
  • Elaine: We could leap it.
  • Tevin: It seems she made a pair.
  • (Tevin Keeps Looking)
  • Joey: Excuse me. If you could teach us, the Loopy-Super-Duper-Leap, then we--
  • Tevin: Teach you the L-D-L-D-L-A-J-L?!? (Sputters Gibberish) What?!? That's ridiculous. Th-Th-Th-Th-Th-Th-That's a very powerful leap! And it's only for one of the professional leapers.
  • Elaine: But we're very good leapers.
  • (Tevin Chuckles): No offense, Joey, but I think you and Elaine are a bit on the small side, and lack of the particular.
  • Joey: We could do the Looper-Duper-- Oh, uh, Whoop-de-Duper-- if you teach us.
  • Tevin: Oh, y'all can't leap the leap if you can't even pronounce the leap. (Clears Throat) Repeat after me. "The Leaper-Deeper Loop-de-Looper-Ally-Jumpy-Leap. The Leaper-Deeper Loop-de-Looper-Ally-Jumpy-Leap. It's got the zip that make you flip, and that's what's going deep, in the Leaper-Deeper Loop-de-Looper-Ally-Jumpy-Leap." Now, half this bounce is ninety percent mental. If ya calculate the specific Tiggerjectory of year, Stripecelleration Diviferous by the Square Boot of yer Rebounce, yer Vertical Situituation Indicator and yer Striperconic Springertia should Rica-tic-chet yer Hydraulific Fu-silly-age into an Accelerometric De-orbit! Any questions?
  • Joey: When do I get to learn the Whooping Looper Whooper-- I mean the Looper Dooper Whooper--
  • Tevin: "The Leaper-Deeper Loop-de-Looper-Ally-Jumpy-Leap. The Leaper-Deeper Loop-de-Looper-Ally-Jumpy-Leap. The more you try, the more you fly, and that's what's going deep, in the Leaper-Deeper Loop-de-Looper-Ally-Jumpy-Leap." Now you swing your legs up high and you twist yer feet in tight! Wind up all yer springs and with your eyes looked straight ahead, you let it all loose.
  • (Joey Looks Tangled)
  • Joey: Umm, is this right?
  • Tevin: "It's best when done by tiggers, 'cause our tiggerific figures are filled with vims and vigors, and that's the thing that triggers. The Leaper-Deeper Loop-de-Looper-Ally-Jumpy-Leap. The Leaper-Deeper Loop-de-Looper-Ally-Jumpy-Leap."
  • Elaine: "The more you try, the more you fly, and that's what's going deep."
  • Tevin: Right! "It activates and elevates, accelerates and more! You're bouncing off the ceiling like you never did before! The Leaper-Deeper--"
  • Joey: "Leaper-Deeper--"
  • Tevin: "Loop-de-Looper--"
  • Elaine: "Loop-de-Looper--"
  • Tevin, Joey, and Elaine: "Ally-Jumpy-Leap!"
  • (Tevin Does the Leaper-Deeper Loop-de-Looper-Ally-Jumpy-Leap)
  • (Joey and Elaine Watch Him Do the Trick)
  • (Tevin Comes Back in, and Shows Them How Done it is)
  • Elaine: Awesome! Now us! Now us!
  • Tevin: Tsk, tsk, tsk. Wait a second. (Giggles) We haven't gone over the safety rules yet. Rule #1: Always leap well in an area. Rule #2: Never leap there in open flame. Rule #3: Never put a tree--
  • Joey: First you--
  • Elaine: And then you--
  • Joey: And then you let all loose with a--
  • (Joey and Elaine Get Too Carried Away with the Leap)
  • (Joey and Elaine Trip on a Ball, and Get Swung into a Closet)
  • (Joey and Elaine Scream)
  • (Tevin Hears a Crash in the Closet)
  • (The Junk Falls Out of the Closet)
  • (Elaine is Dizzy and Has a Locket on her Head)
  • Tevin: I think you let it a little too loose.
  • Elaine (Dizzily): Maybe another lesson?
  • (Elaine Falls)
  • Elaine: We could-- What's with this doohickey?
  • Tevin: That's not a doohickey. It's a locket that's been in my family generations, and I never knew I had a lock-- (Gasps) This must be the same locket I was looking for! And it must have a family picture inside it!
  • Joey: Awesome!
  • Tevin: I can hardly wait! I can't wait to see my mother's eyes, and see my father's nose, and one of my sister's chin, of course.
  • (Tevin Tries to Open the Locket with a Sword)
  • Tevin: My grandpa's skin!
  • (The Locket Opens, But Nothing's in it)
  • (Tevin, Joey, and Elaine Look)
  • Joey: It's kinda-- sorta--
  • Tevin: Empty. Completely empty. How am I gonna find my family now?
  • (Tevin Sits on a Stool)
  • (Elaine Looks Sad for Tevin)
  • Elaine: Maybe there's another way we can see 'em.
  • Tevin: Another way, hmm?
  • (Elaine Looks at an Envelope)
  • Elaine: A letter! Why don't you write 'em a letter?
  • Tevin: Boo-yah!

An Important Discovery is Made/George and Mina Find Some Strange Animals::

  • Milly: Hello?
  • Emmy: Yoo-hoo!
  • Max: Hello?
  • Milly: African Americans?
  • Melanie: African Americans?
  • Milly: African American Family Tree?
  • Emmy: Hello?
  • (A Caterpillar is on Emmy's Nose)
  • Emmy: How will we know an African American family member when we see one?
  • Milly: I suspect that he or she will be very, very full of leaps, Emmy.
  • George: We found 'em!
  • Mina: We found 'em! African Americans!
  • Milly: Excellent! Where, Mina?
  • (George and Mina Lead Milly and her Friends to a Tree in a Jungle)
  • George: Here they are, leaping like anything, leaps and all.
  • (A Lemur Leaps in Mina's Arms)
  • Mina: No need to thank us.
  • John: Do these particular African Americans look strange to you, Emmy?
  • Emmy: No, rather cute.
  • Milly: I guess you can never tell with African Americans.
  • (Milly Walks to a Lemur)
  • Milly: Excuse me, Mr. or Mrs. African American. But could you maybe accompany me back to Tevin's house? He misses you very much, and he--
  • (The Lemur Leaps Away)
  • Milly: Oh, brother.
  • Melanie: Uh, h-hello, African American family member. I-I-I-I was wondering, that is, i-i-if you're not too busy--
  • (The Lemur Leaps Away, Causing Melanie to Fall on the Ground)
  • Melanie: Oh, brother.
  • (George Starts to Sink)
  • George: Sinking? Figures.
  • John: If we could just have a moment--
  • Max: P-P-Please come back!
  • (Max Chases a Lemur)
  • Milly: We really need your help. It would just take a moment. Oh, brother.
  • Emmy: Nice African American.
  • (Lemurs Keep Leaping Away)
  • Emmy: I don't remember African Americans quite this slippery, do you, Milly?
  • Milly: Now that you mention it, I don't remember an African American making a kind of sound ever. Uh, Emmy?
  • Emmy: Yes, Milly?
  • (Lemur Calls)
  • Milly: I don't think these are the right kinds of African Americans, but they live in Madagascar.
  • George: Not that anybody will miss me.

Tevin Writes a Letter:

  • (Elaine Gives Tevin Some Paper)
  • Tevin: Okay, let me see here. "Dear African Americans, greetings and salutations. Please drop by any time you like."
  • (Joey and Elaine Jump Up to See)
  • Tevin: "On account of, mi casa es su casa. Or visa-versa. Love, Tevin." There. That oughta do it.
  • (Tevin Puts the Letter in the Mailbox)
  • (The Letter Gets Sent Away in the Air, to Be Sent)
  • (Joey and Elaine Smile with Happiness)
  • Tevin: Boo-yah! Now there's nothing left to do, but wait.

"Cub-a-By":

  • George: Hello?
  • Milly: Hello?
  • Emmy: Yoo-hoo! Hello? African Americans family?
  • Mina (Off-Screen): Anybody out there?
  • (Milly Hears Lions Roaring, and Running)
  • Milly: Why, if I'm not mistaken, this particular family tree is a lion kind of family tree. And where they have lions, they have meat. Uh, Melanie, I think there might be some moving in this tree.
  • Melanie: Do you think there are African Americans up there, Milly?
  • Milly: I guess there's only one way to find out, Melanie.
  • (Melanie Climbs Up the Tree, and Looks at the Lions)
  • (The Lions are Sleeping in the Plains)
  • Milly: Just as I suspected.
  • (A Lion Wakes Up, and Sees Milly's Hand Reaching Out)
  • (The Lion Looks Firmly at Milly's Hand)
  • (The Lion Scratches Milly's Hand)
  • Milly: Ow!
  • (Milly Slides Down)
  • Milly: Crud. If only these lions were a little less busy.
  • (The Lions Go Back to Sleep)
  • Milly: Maybe if I sang a sweet baby song like such. Hmm. "Go to sleep, shh, quiet, you're a lion." No. "Lullaby, do-do-doo." No. "Cub-a-by, cub-a-by. Hungry lions plain to fly. Rest your paws 'til the morning light. Cub-a-by, cub-a-by. Hungry lions plain to fly. Your meat is safe tonight. Just dream to the tune I am singing. Time to stop all that roaring and stinging." Ouch. Cub-a-by, cub-a-by. Hungry lions plain to fly. All I want is a smackerel or two. Don't sleep lightly, sleep very tightly. Happy slumbers to you." Shh.
  • (Milly Eats Some Meat While the Lions are Sleeping)
  • Melanie: Milly's been going to the plains for an awful long time, don't you think?
  • Mina: More likely she's munching. Been known to happen.
  • Melanie: Oh, goodness. Then, I better go see if she's all right.
  • Emmy: You go for it, Melanie.
  • Max: Yeah, you're the daydreamer.
  • (Melanie Walks to the Plains)
  • (Milly Still Eats the Meat)
  • Melanie: Uh, Milly, are you munching?
  • (Melanie Tips Milly Over, and the Lions Wake Up)
  • Milly: Oh, brother.
  • Melanie: Uh, Milly?
  • (Milly Grabs Melanie and Runs)
  • (The Lions Run After Them)
  • Milly: Melanie!
  • Melanie: Yes, Milly girl?
  • Milly: I have come to the conclusion that these lions are definitely not the right kind of African Americans!
  • George: Doesn't look good.
  • (Milly and Melanie Run Into John, George, Mina, Emmy, and Max)
  • (Lions Do a Bugle Charge)
  • Emmy: Oh, lions! Run!
  • (The Lions Chase After Milly and her Friends)

Winter, and Sadness:

  • (Scene Fades to the Leaves Changing Colors, and the Leaf Falls)
  • (Then Snowflakes Begin to Fall)
  • Narrator: At last, the day had come to an end as days often will. And what began a very exciting idea changed to a rather discouraging one.
  • (Tevin, Joey, and Elaine are Laying in the Snow, All Sad)
  • Elaine: Tevin, we gotta go home now.
  • Joey: Yeah, Mom will be very worried about us.
  • (Tevin Stands Still Sad)
  • Elaine (Off-Screen): Tevin?
  • Tevin: Who am I kidding anyway? They're not coming, and I might as well face it. They haven't any other African Americans. I guess this empty little thing's gonna stay like that forever.
  • Joey: But you said that the wonderful thing about African Americans is being the only one.
  • Tevin: Right you are, Joey boy. Or the most wonderful thing about African Americans is I'm the very only last lonely single solitary one.
  • (Tevin Climbs up to his House)
  • (Joey and Elaine Feel Bad for Tevin)
  • (Scene Cuts to Joey and Elaine's House)
  • Joey (Off-Screen): First I-- (Grunts) Then just a little-- (Grunts) And then I-- (Grunts) (On-Screen) --like this, and then a little twist like such--
  • (Joey Falls)
  • Elaine (Off-Screen): Try it again, Joe.
  • Joey: And then I let it all loose with a Boo--
  • (Joey Falls in the Trunk, and Pops Out on the Desk)
  • (Joey Tries Again)
  • (Joey Screams, and Flies to his Mother in her Arms)
  • Joey and Elaine's Mother: What in Grimm's name are you doing, Joey boy?
  • Joey: Me and Elaine are practicing the Leapy-Leapy-Leap. That is, maybe, if we do it really good for Tevin, he won't miss having a family so much.
  • Elaine: But we can't leap in here.
  • Joey and Elaine's Mother: Well, I'm sure you two will be able to do it in time, dear.
  • Joey: But Joey seems awfully lonely, wouldn't you say, Mom?
  • Joey and Elaine's Mother: I guess he might be. Every now and then.
  • Elaine: Mom?
  • Joey and Elaine's Mother: Yes, Elaine?
  • Elaine: I wish Joey and I had a big brother like Tevin.
  • Joey and Elaine's Mother: Now why do you wish that when you have an African American like Tevin?
  • Elaine: 'Cause then we'd be little brother and sister to him.
  • Joey: And he'll be just like one of our family. Won't that be great?
  • Joey and Elaine's Mother: But, kids, Tevin is one of our family. And as long as we care for him, we always will be.
  • (Joey and Elaine Hug Their Mom, and they All Blow the Candle Out)
  • Joey and Elaine's Mother: Sweet dreams, dears.
  • (Joey and Elaine's Mother Closes the Door)
  • (Joey and Elaine Can't Sleep)
  • (Joey Takes the Picture Down the Wall, and Looks at it)
  • Joey: I just wish we could do something to make him feel better.

Everyone Writes a Letter:

  • Miranda: I say, young man, if you suggest that a letter will bring cheer to our friend Tevin, then we will, by all means, write one. Uh, (Clears Throat) now, what kind of letter should this all be?
  • Elaine: It's by us, from them, to him.
  • John: By which from what to whom?
  • Elaine: From Tevin's family to Tevin.
  • Miranda: Ah, yes. (Clears Throat) "Dear Tevin, just a note to say--" Uh, just a note to say-- What should it say?
  • Joey and Elaine's Mother: Well, uh, I guess it might say, dress warmly?
  • Miranda: Oh, I see. Excellent advice.
  • Milly: Oh, Miranda? Maybe, eat well?
  • Miranda: Good point, Milly.
  • Melanie: Stay safe and sound?
  • Milly: A very good idea, Melanie.
  • (Milly Pats Melanie's Head)
  • Mina: Keep smiling.
  • Joey: We're always there for you.
  • Miranda: "Wishing you all the best. Signed, your family." There.
  • Joey and Elaine's Mother: Won't Tevin be pleased?
  • Milly: Excellent.
  • John: Awesome.
  • Mina: Nice idea.
  • Miranda: Good job, everybody.
  • (Scene Fades to Snow Outside Miranda's House)
  • Narrator: And so, the next morning--
