Zoe is thorny devil and one of main characters from "Back to the Outback" and its fan-made sequel "From the Outback to Entire World".

A little known about Zoe's past. Only thing we know that she was living in the zoo since her childhood.
Back to the Outback[]
Zoe first appears observing Jackie scaring a little girl before the show on security videos, amusing her enough to say that it will be fun when Maddie is seen. Frank suggests waking Maddie up, but Zoe prefers that she see things for herself. The trio are then taken away uncomfortably for the show about to begin. At the time of the show, Zoe appears under Chaz's hat, referred to as a filthy thing and then is taken along with Nigel and Frank as Maddie is about to be introduced for the first time.
After dark, Zoe and the arachnids notice that Maddie has been unhappy since she was called a monster by the mob. When Jackie asks for Maddie's first impression, the three nod to the alligator that it's not going well, prompting Jackie to try to comfort Maddie by bringing up the qualities of each, like Zoe's intelligence which proceeds to skillfully lower the lamp from the vivarium with just a small pebble. Maddie doesn't feel any better though, as she would like to be loved like the Pretty Boy who Zoe just finds disgusting just by looking at him through the cameras. Zoe then listens to a story about Jackie on the Outback before going to sleep.
The following days, Zoe continues to scare visitors to the zoo and occasionally gets popcorn in the face. After Jackie is wrongly accused of wanting to attack Chazzie and is being taken away, Maddie tries to get out of the vivarium by bumping into it until Zoe tells her to calm down and then leaves the reptile house only to witness to her great sadness Jackie's expulsion from the zoo, exchanging one last look with her mother figure. After that Maddie and Nigel cried and Frank and Zoe just were saddened because of Jacky's loss.
Following this event, Maddie cheers up, refuses telling a story about the Outback and convinces her three friends that it is time for them to give up their miserable life as zoo freaks and go to the Outback where they can reunite with their families. As the four animals manage to cross the zoo without having arrived, Maddie declares that she is sure they will get there, but Zoe advises her not to say that when a noise calls out to them. They notice Pretty Boy deliberately making a noise so that the runaways get caught. The obnoxious koala then accidentally gets stung by Nigel and falls to the other side of the wall, followed by the four animals whose landing is cushioned by Maddie.
Arriving at the seaside, Zoe comes up with the idea of using a raft to cross to the coast of town, while also asking what to do with the still unconscious Pretty Boy they eventually take with him. them so that he doesn't alert anyone. Frank finds a bird's nest which he uses as a raft, although Zoe criticizes the choice. As soon as they admire the stars Zoe notices a shark, but they don't have time to flee. Lucky for them, the shark turns out to be a nice female named Jacinta who explains to the runaways that she is a member of the U.S.S. (Uglies Secret Society) and give them a password so that other members can help the five animals at any time.
Dropped on the shore by Jacinta, Zoe remarks that the humans will kill them when they see them before Pretty Boy dares to use her as a comb and obnoxiously leaves the gang, causing Zoe to call him a jerk. As they sneak through the alleys hiding in the garbage with Zoe forced to share a Chinese lunch box with the two arachnids, the gang find themselves surrounded by an angry mob chasing Pretty Boy. With no way out, the animals try to remember the U.S.S. as humans approach them hostility. The moment Maddie says the password, the humans cover the animals in a suit and apparently begin to stomp on them only to discover that they are missing, leaving only the manhole cover they were standing on.
Now in the sewers, the gang is approached by their saviors, redneck spiders whose Frank tries to flirt with the female boss, only for Zoe to slap him in exasperation and then when Nigel asks Pretty Boy if he can wipe his fur, Zoe tells him to stop before the tape is carried away by the water channel to the treatment plant. At first frightened, Zoe and the other fugitives quickly take pleasure in the aquatic descent, the thorny devil having fun surfing on the pipes and the walls before then expelled through the ventilation duct onto a window washer platform. They barely have time to breathe when Chaz and Chazzy disembark and try to capture them until the animals cling to an ice cream truck.
The gang goes down to an elementary school where they meet two duck toads that Maddie releases despite Zoe being wary of their toxicity because of the posters on the walls. The toads then inform them that one of the buses is heading for the Outback. Aside from the brutality of the children, the gang manages to get on a bus but Zoe realizes it's not the right one as they start to move. Fortunately, the horned devil at the idea of using a skateboard and a flag to reach the roof of the other bus.
Later as the bus goes deeper into nature, Zoe takes the opportunity to feed on the bees passing near her. When Maddie claims that they will all be happy in the Outback with their families, Zoe admits her skepticism about it since neither of them have ever had, not even knowing what it really is until Maddie claims. that they're the ones who love them exactly the way they are and then hug them. Their pleasant moment is brutally interrupted by Chaz and Chazzy chasing them in their jeep, forcing the fleeing people to hide inside the bus where they are almost attacked by the frightened children. A little girl unexpectedly helps them escape, realizing that they just want to find a place to live.
After falling off the cliff, Zoe witnesses an argument between Maddie and Pretty Boy more heinous than ever before Chaz accidentally runs into them, trapping Maddie. Zoe, Frank and Nigel try to charge the human but fall into a crevasse they hadn't seen before being blocked by Chaz's hat. Against all odds, Pretty Boy uses the password to summon three Tasmanian devil who pushes Chaz back and frees the trio by tearing the hat to pieces, allowing the journey to resume.
Successively guided by other members of the U.S.S. through the Australian wilderness for three weeks, the band climbs not far from Ayers Rock where Zoe asks Maddie to sing her mother's lullaby then falls asleep. The next day, Pretty Boy separates from the group after finding a Koala tree and again using Zoe as a comb and toothpick. At dusk, the four friends finally reach the Jackie Stories Mountains and meet other members of their respective species. Unfortunately, they are captured by Chaz accompanied by bikers, although Maddie is freed by a remorseful Chazzy.
The next day, Maddie and Pretty Boy come to their friends' rescue in a fire truck while taking on the bikers. During the assault, Maddie admits to Zoe, Frank and Nigel that she considers them her family before Zoe comes up with the idea of making Nigel scream by making him believe he was turning beige so that her way would break the unbreakable glass of their cage. Once again reunited, the gang flees towards the canyon in a motorcycle sidecar, still being chased by the humans. Following the sudden ambush of the Outback animals against the bikers, the gang find themselves with Chaz and Chazzy on the firefighter's ladder holding onto rocks like a seesaw above the void but survive by helping each other at the end. Chaz do then made peace with the animals for saving his son.
Definitely free, Maddie, Zoe, Frank, Nigel and Pretty Boy are acclaimed as heroes by the animals of the Outback while being reunited with Jackie and finally settle in the Outback.
From the Outback to Entire World[]
Maddie and friends are making a plan, how to spend their holidays. They're choosing various adventures until Pretty Boy decides to travel around the world. Others look interested. Jackie arrives and says that if they want to travel around the world they will know foreigh culture, language and respect it. Zoe says that everything will be OK. They went to the road and get into the car to ride to the pier. Then they all go to the ship and hide in the baggage room.
They reached Asia and went away. They were going through the chinese bamboo forest until they found Mei the Panda who was calling for help to save her child from snakes ruled by Asp the Snake. Mort the Mongoose arrived and said that he wants to help them. He started fighting with some when they distracted other snakes by ruling them to fall from the cliff. Mei thanks the group and Mort and invites them to go to the dinner. She fed them bamboo and Pretty Boy didn't like it then others liked a little. Koala almost tried to tell Mei give something other but Maddie stopped him because they shouldn't blame their culture. Mei told them a story of asian animals when Zoe told them australian animals'. Next they went on their journey.
While going through the India they saw Ekanrock and Ardako who were running from angry monkeys. They wanted to help them and hide in the cave. Ardako thanked and said that they were "abused by monkeys for being dangerous snakes" and Frank decided to make them both join the journey they agreed to. They talked about each other and knew that Ekanrock shared the same fate as Maddie, Frank, Zoe and Nigel in the past. Ardako is his son and lost his mother in childhood. When Ekanrock heard that they saved Chaz's son Chazzie he was shocked, but he didn't express emotions to others. He knew that they're allied with people and will ruin his plan.
They stayed for night in the forest. In the morning snakes wanted to kill them but they were late because ship had already sailed away.
When ship sailed to the Europe they went in the forest of Russia. Ekanrock went to the forest but was captured by wolf. Nigel saw Ekanrock's "death" and told that they lost their friends. Pretty Boy also saw it but said that maybe he's alive and he didn't like him so much. Next the group was surrounded by wolves and Igee the Iguana and almost eaten alive. But thankfully they were saved by Ivan the Bear who defeated wolves and made them retreat. He asked the group to help them leave this place, put them on his back and ran woth them to the end of the forest. Maddie grated him and Pretty Boy found Ivan a little familiar to him and talked to him about it. Next they all went into the next place.
They were going through the Italian town and accidentally scaring others. People called the police in fear and hunters on the street and started firing them. But Adriano the Parrot and other birds saved them capturing them and landing on the roof of the house. They talked to each other and knew that not all european animals are very friendly to foreigh animals. Adriano later showed the way how to find for help.
Parrot talked to his old friend Ben the Bulldog who knew the way to the next place - Africa. They went to the train and group hidden in the luggage room.
Group goes away from the station and walks through the desert exhausted. They met Jammal the Camel who gave them some food and drink and delivered them to the other side of desert. Nigel noticed various scorpions here and said he didn't know that his species wasn't only australian.
When they went in savahna they saw lions and other african animals fighting against hyenas, crocodiles and vultures ruled by Cleer. Kirji runs to them to tell about something happening out there. Group joined the battle and made hyenas retreat. Adjan the Lion invites group in his cave to have a lunch but they had only meat that our group doesn't eat. But here was nothing but to eat it. Maddie told him that they're from Australia and Adjan told them a story about african animals. They stayed here for a night.
Next day they moved to the south of Africa and met Norm the Narwhal who decided to deliver them to Antarctica but they met some hypnotised killer whales and fighted with them. Norm called his relatives to help him and they suceeded.
They landed at the Antarctica and fastly felt cold. They were walking through this place until they found killer whales and sea leopards ruled by Morgo and Chaw attacking Perry the Penguin's son Percy and other penguins. So, group scared whales with narwhal's costume. They thanked them, told their story and where to go.
They went into the ice cave and accidentally slided down the slide avoiding various traps. They saw the airplane on the ground and drove it to leave Antarctica. Now they're going to South America.
They landed their plane in South America to get some food and drink. They were walking in the jungle and Maddie accidentally fell in the Amazon river. She was calling for help and she was saved by Oscar the Otter. He gave them some fish as food adn they ate it because they ate meat before and fish is like meat a little. He said to the group that South America has a lot of dangerous animals just like Australia. Pretty Boy said that they know how to deal with them.
Frank accidentally found the lost temple full of jaguars led by Janda. Maddie says that they're not dangerous and jaguars invited them. They were talking to each other until Tero's and Gavin's army of spiders, crocodiles, pirahnas and tree frogs started attacking the temple. They saw that they're here to kill the group. They were defending the temple and Janda told the group to go away to the plane. They went in and escaped while jaguars except Janda were caught and hypnotised by their leader unseen.
When they landed in North America they met Sylas the Skunk who said that North America is very dangerous place because Ekanrock lives in this prairie. Maddie argued because they saw Ekanrock dying. But Sylas said that's not true. He decided to escort them to his house.
When they were walking in the mountains they were surrounded by various hypnotised animals and Ekanrock himself. Group was shocked seeing him alive and leading their enemies. He told the truth about himself, his goals to destroy all people and asked them to join him. Group denied because people afraid of dangerous animals and doesn't destroy them just for reason. Ekanrock knew that they can't serve him and ordered his gang to kill them. Group and Sylas were fighting with them until crocodiles arrive and started beating them up. Maddie sacrifices herself by pushing group from a not high cliff and getting impisoned and it started raining. They heard someone fighting with Ekanrock and decided to go back. They hide behind the rock and saw Jackie fighting with Ekanrock. Jackie was stronger and fighing him easily but lightning striked the tree and it falls on Jackie nailing her to the ground. Heartless Ekanrock then bites defenceless Jackie and kills her with venom. They all scream in horror and Maddie began to cry in her cage blaming herself in Jackie's death. Cobra makes his sinister laugh after immoral victory and takes command to go to his lair.
Sylas says that he didn't want Jackie's death but Pretty Boy said that he isn't guilty in it but they knew that they can't do anything against Ekanrock and his army. Then their friends accidentally arrived and said that Jackie ordered them to take care of them but Nigel said that Jackie is dead. After having a short funeral they rised up and said that they should save this planet. And no matter what happens if they lose.
Sylas showed the way to Ekanrock's lair and group saw Ekanrock torturing Maddie. PB ordered Sylas to call other animals inside. They decided to make a plan where Zoe and Frank should release Maddie. They saw Ardako talking to Maddie and Maddie said that Ardako is good man and wants to help them. Accidentally Nigel made a loud noise and they were founded. In the cage Maddie blamed herself in her friends imprisonment and Ekanrock ordered them to go to their plane to fly to the New York.
When they reached this place Ekanrock almost threw them out but friends arrived and saved them. Then Ekanrock and Maddie fell on Empire-State-Building and their plane crashed on empty shop. Then they went out and Pretty Boy ordered other members of group to fight with ekanrgangs defeating one by one. When they heard Maddie screaming and being stretched by mutated Ekanrock on lab's wall they all ran to save her. Zoe fell on Ekanrock's back to attack him with tail but she with Frank and Nigel were catched, thrown away and accidentally catched by eagle. They fighted with him until PB with Ardako threw an antidote to Maddie to bring Ekanrock back to normal.
They met Maddie on the ground but she thought that they are also dead as her. But she knew that everything is OK but when they heard that Ekanrock is dead and saw his skin and teeth they were horrified a little. Adjan the Lion said that they need to deliver them home.
When they returned back to Australia, outback inhabitants showed them home. And we see Maddie's and Ardako's wedding with all animals invited. They promised to each other that all animals are friends now.
Personality[]
Zoe is an outspoken, unimpressive reptile, almost always jaded and sometimes mocking. She doesn't like inappropriate remarks about her, responding to them with taunts. She openly despised Pretty Boy for his obnoxious behavior as well as the times he used her as a comb, though the two would eventually become friends towards the end of the journey. She gets along well with Maddie, Nigel and Frank while also seeing Jackie as a mother figure, although she initially doesn't know what a family really is. When Maddie comes to save them and openly describes them as her family, Zoe is very touched by it.
She is also particularly intelligent, having by herself got everyone out of their vivariums with ease and has had several brilliant helpers who managed to improve the gang's situation on the trip to the Outback. Zoe is not a very optimistic person either.
When they were fighting against Ekanrock, Zoe also made a lot of clever things to win.
